Iraq to allow settlement of trade with China in yuan

Iraq plans to improve its foreign exchange reserves by allowing trade with China to be settled directly in yuan for the first time, the Central Bank of Iraq reportedly said on Feb. 22.

The Central Bank of Iraq also said in a statement that it may raise the balance in its yuan account with Chinese banks in the future as part of the plan.
