FOB

  • It is the price at which the seller loads the goods on the carrier designated by the buyer at the port specified in the contract, and bears all costs and risks until the goods are loaded on the carrier.
  • In accordance with international trade practices, the general division of responsibilities between buyers and sellers is as follows: (1) Seller’s responsibilities: Responsible for loading the goods on the carrier designated by the buyer at the port and date or within the time limit specified in the contract, issuing a shipping notice to the buyer, and paying for the goods All costs and risks before loading on the delivery vehicle, responsible for handling export procedures, paying export taxes, providing visas from the government of the exporting country or relevant parties, and providing relevant shipping documents. (2) Responsibilities of the buyer: responsible for chartering and booking space, paying freight, and timely notifying the seller of the name and schedule of the ship, and bearing all risks and expenses after the goods are loaded on the carrier; responsible for handling insurance, paying insurance premiums, and accepting the seller's offer Relevant shipping documents, payment for goods; responsible for receiving goods at the port of destination, going through import procedures, and paying import taxes.
  • If the FOB price is carried by other means of transportation than ships, it should be indicated separately.
