What to Watch About The New Regulations on Toy Guns Issued by The United States

On May 11, 2023, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued 16 CFR 1272, making consistent changes to the marking of toy guns, products that look like firearms, and imitation firearms. Provided no significant objections are received by CPSC by June 12, 2023, the rule will become effective on June 26, 2023.
STANDARD SCOPE
The regulation applies to toys that have the appearance, shape, and/or configuration of firearms, products that look like firearms, and imitation firearms equipment.
BUT NOT INCLUDING:
A collectible non-firing imitation antique firearm that looks real and may be a scale model, but is not a toy modeled after an actual firearm designed, manufactured, and produced before 1898.
A conventional B-B gun, paintball gun, or pellet-launching air gun that fires a projectile by the force of compressed air, compressed gas, or mechanical spring action, or any combination thereof, as described in ASTM F589-85.
Decorative and miniature objects having the appearance, shape and/or configuration of a firearm, including items intended to be placed on a table or hung from bracelets, necklaces, keychains, etc., which do not exceed 38mm in height and 70mm in length (Does not include any stock length).
EXEMPTION:
Any toy guns, firearm-like products, and imitation firearms that are intended solely for use in the theatrical, film, or television industry may be exempted from the marking requirement upon written request to the CPSC).
EFFECTS ON TOYS:
Any toy guns, firearm-like products, and imitation firearms that are intended solely for use in the theatrical, film, or television industry may be exempted from the marking requirement upon written request to the CPSC).
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
Toys that have the appearance, shape and/or configuration of firearms, products that look like firearms, and imitation firearms equipment must meet at least one of the following conditions:
Flame orange (AMS STD 595A-17, color number 12199) or a brighter orange than specified by the AMS standard color number, the solid plug is permanently affixed to the muzzle end of the barrel as an integral part of the overall The muzzle end of the tube is not more than 6mm recessed;
Flame orange (AMS STD 595A-17 color number 12199) or a brighter orange than that prescribed by the AMS standard color number, marked permanently affixed to the outer surface of the barrel, covering the circumference of the barrel from the muzzle end to a depth of at least 6 mm;
The device is made entirely of transparent or translucent material allowing unmistakable viewing of the entire contents of the device; or the color of the entire exterior surface of the device is white, bright red, bright orange, bright yellow, bright green, bright blue, bright pink Or bright purple, which can be used alone or as a main color in combination with other colors in any pattern.
