More Than 70% of The World's Toys Are Produced in China!

Feb 27, 2023

Affected by the global epidemic in recent years, the toy industry has also encountered problems such as rising raw materials and poor logistics and transportation. But even in this context, my country's toy industry has maintained a steady development. Behind this is the efforts of the entire toy industry chain in creating and upgrading.

The toy industry is a microcosm of China's foreign trade. Over the past ten years, China's import and export volume of goods has hit new highs, increasing from 24.4 trillion yuan in 2012 to 39.1 trillion yuan last year, with an increase of 14.7 trillion yuan. It is close to the total import and export value of the whole year of 2009. In 2018, it broke through the 30 trillion yuan mark, and then in 2021 it will approach the 40 trillion yuan mark. The international market share has also increased from 10.4% in 2012 to 13.5% last year, and the position of the world's largest trader in goods has been further consolidated. Since 2017, my country has maintained its position as the largest country in the world's trade in goods for five consecutive years. In the past ten years, the scale of my country's trade in goods has continued to rise, which fully reflects that China is not only a "world factory" but also a "world market". development opportunities in the Chinese market.

In terms of quality, the high-quality development of foreign trade continues to advance, and foreign trade operators are more dynamic. In the past ten years, the business entities of foreign trade have increased by 1.7 times, the "friend circle" of foreign trade has continued to expand, the trade with countries along the "Belt and Road" has continued to deepen and unimpeded, the domestic regional layout has been optimized, and the proportion of imports and exports in the central and western regions of my country has increased from ten The 11.1% before the previous year increased to 17.7% last year, an increase of 6.6 percentage points. The structure of import and export commodities has been optimized, and new momentum for foreign trade development has been continuously stimulated. In the past ten years, the high-quality development of foreign trade is a vivid portrayal of the transformation and upgrading from "Made in China" to "Made in China". China's foreign trade is stronger in participating in international competition, playing a greater role in the economic engine, and developing in the long run. The foundation is stronger.

Over the past ten years, the national customs has focused on serving the overall economic and social development of the country, strengthened supervision and optimized services, and promoted the high-quality development of foreign trade.

First, continue to optimize the port business environment. The number of regulatory certificates for import and export has been reduced from 86 to 41, and the overall customs clearance time has been reduced by more than half in the past four years. Every minute and hour saved can be converted into economic benefits for enterprises.

The second is to vigorously support the construction of an open platform. Promote the innovative development of comprehensive bonded areas. At present, there are 156 comprehensive bonded areas across the country. Actively carry out the innovation of the customs supervision system in the Pilot Free Trade Zone, adhere to the principle of "controlling and letting go", and study and formulate a framework plan for the customs supervision of the Hainan Free Trade Port. The import and export of comprehensive bonded areas, free trade pilot areas, and Hainan Free Trade Port have increased significantly.

The third is to actively promote the orderly development of new forms of foreign trade. Supervision models such as "online shopping bonded import", "cross-border e-commerce B2B direct export" and "cross-border e-commerce export overseas warehouse" have met the development needs of cross-border e-commerce enterprises and enabled them to "Buy the world" and "sell the world" have become a reality.

The fourth is to comprehensively deepen the international cooperation of customs. Established friendly and cooperative relations with the customs of 171 countries and regions, deeply participated in the formulation of relevant rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO), the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the negotiation of free trade agreements such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), and actively participated in global Customs collaborative governance. Support the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", and promote more than 100 high-quality agricultural and food products from countries along the route to trade with China from 2013 to 2021. By promoting mutual recognition and cooperation of "Authorized Economic Operators" (AEO), nearly 4,000 advanced customs-certified enterprises in China enjoy the same customs clearance convenience abroad as in China, which reduces trade costs and creates a good external environment for China's foreign trade.
