DAP
- That is, delivery at destination means that after the seller has transported the goods to the destination designated by the buyer by the means of transport, the seller will hand over the goods loaded on the means of transport (without unloading) to the buyer's disposal, that is, complete the delivery.
PAY ATTENTION TO THE PROMPT
(1) The delivery point of DAP can be either at the designated place on the border between the two countries, on board the ship at the port of destination, or at a certain point in the inland of the importing country.
(2) The seller delivers at the named destination, but the seller is not responsible for unloading the goods from the arriving means of transport. The buyer is responsible for unloading the goods from the arriving means of transport at the named destination, but the seller ensures that the goods are available for unloading. When signing the transportation contract, the seller should pay attention to the coordination between the transportation contract and the relevant delivery place of the sales contract. If the seller incurs unloading costs at the designated destination according to the transportation contract, the seller has no right to demand compensation from the buyer unless otherwise agreed by the two parties.
(3) Since the seller bears the risk before delivery at the specified delivery point, the buyer and the seller should specify the delivery address of the designated destination as clearly as possible, preferably down to a specific point within the designated destination. If no specific delivery point has been agreed or cannot be determined, the seller may choose the delivery point at the named destination which is most suitable for its purposes.
(4) The seller has no obligation to conclude an insurance contract with the buyer, but since the risk of the entire transportation process is borne by the seller, the seller usually avoids the risk of cargo transportation by purchasing insurance.
(5) If the buyer and the seller want the license or other official authorization required for importation to be handled by the seller, as well as all customs formalities required for the importation of the goods, including payment of all import duties, the term DDP should be used.
